Colony win puts Knights, Moose in playoffs

PALMER - The Colony Knights punched their playoff ticket with a 27-13 win over the West Valley Wolfpack at Colony High School on Friday.

The win also officially placed Palmer in the postseason. The Moose, one of three teams still in contention for the Railbelt Conference title, face undefeated North Pole on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Interior.

Colony senior Gino Paoletti rushed for a game-high 125 yards and a touchdown in the win. Sophomore Matt Jaronik grabbed a key interception on defense, and added 83 yards rushing and a score in the win.

Eric Fan and Collin Murphy also scored for CHS.

North Pole, Colony, Palmer and Juneau-Douglas are the Railbelt's four playoff teams. North Pole (4-0), Colony (4-1) and Palmer (3-1) are in contention for the conference title. North Pole will clinch the title with a win over Palmer.

In other action, Wasilla posted a 42-7 win over Houston in nonconference action on Friday. Junior Cody Pfeifer threw a pair of touchdown passes in the win.
