Colony wrestlers cruise to North/South title

WASILLA —In the first major prep wrestling meet of the year featuring only 4A programs, Colony dominated.

The Knights piled up 215 total points to win the North/South Tournament at Wasilla High School Saturday. Colony placed eight wrestlers in the finals of the 14-team tournament. Sam Sisco (106 pounds), Jordan Nero (138) and Robert Haan (160) each won their respective weight classes. Robert Zimmerman (98), Chace Booth (126), Spencer Adams (152), Dawson Nash (170) and Mitchell Daigle (285) all advanced to the finals and placed second. Fourteen Knights placed in the top four of their classes.

Host Wasilla finished second in the tourney with 149 points. Micah Mathis (98) and D.J. Morrow (170) each won titles. Dillon Simpson (113), Bryan McKimson (138) and Forrest Pearce (182) placed second for Wasilla.

Austin Farris won the 195-pound class to lead eighth-place Palmer.
