Coloring contest insults Jews

To the editor:

I’m not sure, but I think the image of the Menorah surrounded by Easter eggs included among the images for the Easter Coloring contest (March 16, 2010, edition) was a little bit out of place.

If I recall the theology I was taught while completing a degree in Biblical Literature the Jews do not celebrate Easter because it is celebration of the Resurrection of Christ. Jews do not believe that Christ was the messiah and therefore do not celebrate Easter. They do, however, have Passover this time of year. At Passover, they remember their (liberation) from slavery in Egypt.

The inclusion of the image of the Menorah among images of the cross, the Easter bunny and Easter eggs is an insult to the Jewish people and the Frontiersman owes them an apology.
