Commentary was appreciated

To the editor,

In addition to your “What would Jesus do?” response, my thoughts regarding many of the negative comments was that perhaps these folks would also want to demolish the inscription on the icon of our country, the Statue of Liberty:

“Inscription on the Statue of Liberty”

Give me your tired, your poor,

Your huddled masses, yearning to breath free,

The wretched refuse of your teeming shore,

Send these, the homeless, tempest tossed to me,

I lift my lamp beside the golden door.

Thank you for stepping up to the plate with your editorial and hitting one out of the park.
