Compromise is how government works

To the editor:

A big “thank you” to the ideologues in our Legislature who have managed the nearly unthinkable — they’ve made Washington, D.C., look like a model of efficiency and cooperation!

I’m reminded of Joe Miller, in his bid to unseat Lisa Murkowski, fuming about her being a “compromiser.” Well, last time I checked, that’s how our government is supposed to work, rather than being held hostage by the “my-way-or-the-highway” suicide bombers who were elected over the last few years.

I can only hope the Alaska electorate starts paying closer attention to those whom we choose to represent us in government. It’s up to us.
