So, some folks at Wasilla High School look at a piece of stone and see a vagina. Perhaps these same people see fence posts as phallic symbols and their being inserted into the ground a representation of copulation.
Art is art. You can interpret it as you will, but geesh, the sculptors have described their vision for this particular piece of art, and a vaginal representation wasn’t apparently on their minds.
Vagina isn’t the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw it. But even if it does represent a vagina, a portal into the real world, isn’t that what graduation from high school is supposed to be — a portal into the real world? What better representation could we have of Mother Earth and entry into a world of responsibility?
Anyway, girls already know what a vagina looks like and boys — well, boys know from high school biology class, don’t they?
C’mon, folks, there are bigger things to fret over, like people murdering people, pirates, slavery and our sitting president “changing” us into a socialist regime.
Get a grip and concentrate on what’s important. The ageless argument about what pornography is, or isn’t, isn’t it.
