Concordia student performs in campus recital

Music composed by Concordia University, Nebraska students was featured in a recital on Nov. 18 in the Recital Hall of the Music Center on campus.

Students participating in the recital included Cameron Christiansen, a junior from Palmer, who performed “Luther’s Morning Prayer.”

“None of this music has ever been heard before by anyone,” said Music Instructor of Composition David von Kampen in a press release. “The student composers create the music, recruit performers for their works and organize their rehearsals, and many are participating in their own pieces as performers or conducting.”

Each piece played had different instrumentation, so numerous musical styles were performed throughout the recital.

Christiansen is the son of Rod and Temple Christiansen of Palmer.
