ConocoPhillips Alaska leads HAMILTON sponsorship in bringing Broadway to Anchorage

ANCHORAGE — ConocoPhillips Alaska will continue its support of the Arts in Anchorage and Alaska as the Spotlight Sponsor for Broadway Alaska's engagement of HAMILTON this season.

"All of us at ConocoPhillips Alaska are happy to be partnering with Broadway Alaska to bring HAMILTON to the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts. We are proud to be long-time supporters of the Arts in our community,” said Erec Isaacson, ConocoPhillips Alaska President.

The sponsorship of HAMILTON will provide critical support to Broadway Alaska to help cover the costs of bringing Times Square to Town Square in an entirely new way – a mix of air, sea and land travel will bring nationally touring Broadway shows to Alaska at Alaska Center for the Performing Arts (ACPA).

Broadway Alaska, a partnership between ACPA and The Nederlander Organization, will bring the best of Broadway to Anchorage, Alaska. The program’s inaugural 2023/2024 season will present four national tours that are coming to Alaska for the first time, including HAMILTON, Come From Away, SIX: The Musical and Disney’s ALADDIN.

HAMILTON will kick off the season and the engagement begins on August 17 and continues through September 10 this year. Over the 4 weeks, HAMILTON will be presented 30 times to an estimated audience of more than 50,000 patrons.

"We value and appreciate our long and trusted partnership with ConocoPhillips Alaska, helping us to bring the Arts to our community. With their support as the Spotlight Sponsor of HAMILTON, together with our Season Sponsors Alaska Airlines and GCI, we are bringing this incredible production to our community as the kick-off to our new and groundbreaking program, Broadway Alaska," said Codie Costello, ACPA President and COO and General Manager of Broadway Alaska.

The sponsorship will continue a tradition of community investment between the corporation and programs at the PAC.

Past contributions from ConocoPhillips Alaska to ACPA have included the funds to purchase livestreaming equipment and ardent support of Ushering in the Arts.

The livestream equipment allowed the ACPA to provide programming during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic during gathering restrictions. Today, the equipment is available for use by facility clients wishing to stream their performances worldwide.

Ushering in the Arts (UITA) is the volunteer program of ACPA that serves all events at the venue. The team of 300-plus volunteer ushers are a go-to resource for guests who attend performances. ConocoPhillips Alaska has been a longtime sponsor of the UITA program, and this year has chosen to increase its support of the program.

"We are incredibly grateful for ConocoPhillips Alaska’s continued and increased support of Ushering in the Arts (UITA). The program supports every user of the PAC venue, including several other venues across Anchorage, with stellar services that ensure every patron is safely welcomed into the building and to their seats for magically memorable experiences,” Costello said. “Thank you to ConocoPhillips Alaska, a pillar to the Arts in Alaska!"
