Cooperation not petty feuds

To the editor:

Governor Palin has mandated that by 2025, 50 percent of our power is to come from renewable energy sources. That’s a tall order. But she is also calling for unification of electrical utilities so we can enjoy environmentally friendly, reliable and cheaper energy.

Lois Lester and Kit Jones support this plan and applaud the governor for her commitment to our energy future. Marvin Yoder and Crystal Nygard are pushing for local generation instead of cooperation. It is time to put aside old turf wars and petty disputes. It is time to embrace a unified energy policy, where costs will be lower and reliability better than anything we could achieve by doing it on our own.

These are serious times; we need serious people dedicated to getting the job done. Please vote for Lois Lester and Kit Jones for the MEA Board of Directors.
