HOUSTON — The Cordova Wolverines swept the Houston boys and girls in a pair of nonconference games at Houston High School on Friday.
In girls’ action, Cordova held Houston scoreless for the first eight minutes, and held on for a 36-28 win over the Hawks.
Savanna James led the Hawks with 11 points.
In the boys’ game, Cordova used a 42-point second half to score the 68-53 come-from-behind victory over the Hawks.
Max Rothley scored 12 of his 20 points during the first two quarters as Houston built a 31-26 halftime lead. Zack Qual added 11 points in the loss.
This week, Houston will make the trip east to compete in the Valdez Invitational. The Houston boys open with Barrow at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.
The Houston girls will see host Valdez at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
