Former Palmer resident Coreen Joy Braun, 74, died July 15, 2004, at Providence Alaska Medical Center, in Anchorage.
A service will be held on Tuesday, July 20 at 4 p.m. Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
Ms. Braun was born July 13, 1930, in Chicago. She graduated from Schurr High School in Chicago. Ms. Braun began her residency in Palmer in April of 2000. She was a resident of Chicago for 70 years and worked as an executive secretary for Sage Foods in Chicago.
Her hobbies were cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.
Her family said: "Coreen was all about her family. Her children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love for cooking was evident in the waistlines of her friends and family. She rarely went to work without a pan of something hot and gooey for her co-workers. She enjoyed entertaining friends and family, surrounding herself once again with laughter and love. She always had at least one dog on her lap. Her pets were blessed with human tid-bits. She never complained during any time of her illnesses, throughout her later years. She was strong willed with a tenacious sense of character. She lived to live and loved life itself. Though her accomplishments in life were many, she always had more she wanted to do. Some of her final words were 'I have so much more I want to do.' She loved and was loved by all who knew her and her greatest asset was her dry sense of humor and the loud voice she shared with us all. Her favorite song was, 'I'll be loving you … Always.' And we believe she will!"
Ms. Braun was survived by her son, Charles J. Braun, daughter in-law, Terrie Irwin, son, Kevin P. Braun, daughter in-law, Linda Braun, daughter, Lori A.Hyden, brother, Loren Sepper, sister in-law, Maria Sepper, granddaughter, Amanda Henry, and her spouse Scott Henry, grandaughter, Summer Cutting, and her spouse, Andy Cutting, Grandson, Kyle Braun, grandaughter Alina Braun, great-grandaughter Grace Henry, numerous nieces and nephews, and "Mutley."
