Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Cory Paul Godwin, 22, died May 25, 2003, as the result of an automobile accident on Bogard Road in Wasilla.
A viewing will be held at Valley Funeral Home at 3 p.m. today, May 30, followed with a graveside service at Wasilla Aurora Cemetery at 4 p.m.
Mr. Godwin was born Dec. 20, 1980, in Richland, Wash.
He attended school in Richland, Wash.
Mr. Godwin moved to Alaska on April 15. He was employed by D & A Shoprite in Wasilla.
Mr. Godwin's interests included writing poems and songs and making people smile and feel better.
His family said, "Cory was a people person, loved and cared so much about his family -- you couldn't find a better friend. He always had your back."
Mr. Godwin is survived by his mother, Theresa Godwin, brothers Jacob Godwin and Aaron Godwin and his soon-to-be step-father, John Ellsworth.
Memorial donations may be sent to 3300 Beech Way, #1, Wasilla AK 99654.
