PALMER — On Oct. 17, a 40-year-old Anchorage man was arrested for sexual assault of a minor in the second degree for an incident that allegedly took place in Wasilla in or around 2008.
The then approximately 32-year-old Troy Clement is alleged to have had sexual contact with a person under 13 years of age, according to charging documents.
On Monday, Clement appeared in court and received bail in the amount of $20,000 with a court-appointed third party.
A pretrial conference was set for Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. The trial is set for the week of Dec. 4.
On Oct. 25, 52-year-old Donald Robert Aide, of Wasilla, was arrested and charged with assault in the second degree, intentionally causing physical injury to family member with weapon, as well as assault charges in the third and fourth degree.
Police responded to a welfare check, where they met Daniel K. Aide, the son of the accused, who told them his father had become angry while drinking alcohol and yelled at him before squeezing him by the neck, according to police.
Daniel Aide told police he was in fear for his life, stating the strangulation lasted for about 10-15 seconds, until, with his last breath, he said, “please stop,” at which point the strangling stopped, but Donald Aide hit his son on top of the head with a closed fist, according to police reports.
Police observed red marks on the neck of Daniel Aide.
Donald Aide was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial Facility. He was given $5,000 cash performance bond.
His preliminary hearing is Nov. 6 at 1 p.m.
