Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Craig A. Fields, 43, died of natural causes at his home March 8, 2004.
A private memorial service will be held.
Mr. Fields was born Sept. 16, 1960, in Bangor, Maine, to Arnold and Ella (Hodgdon) Fields.
He graduated from Upward Bound College in Patney, Vt., in 1975. He attended Job Corps in Wisconsin, graduating in 1976.
He had worked as a cook at the Rockerfeller Estate in Maine and at Village Pizza in Brattleboro, Vt.
Mr. Fields came to Alaska in 2002 to help his uncle, Tom Hodgdon, of Wasilla, in his greenhouse.
He had been a member of the 7th Day Adventist faith.
His interests included photography, gourmet cooking, art and playing video games.
His family said, "Keep on keepin' on."
Mr. Fields was preceded in death by his grandparents Donald and Katherine Hodgdon; uncles Alanzo Hodgdon and David Hodgdon and aunt Geniva Hodgdon.
He is survived by his parents Ella Hodgdon of Turner, Maine, and Arnold Fields Sr. of Shirley, Mass.; daughter Tammy Fields; son Craig Fields Jr. of Kene, N.H.; two grandchildren; sisters Barbara Fields of Turner, Maine, and Andrea Fields of Auburn, Maine; brother Arnold Fields Jr. of Kittery, Maine; cousin Dwight Grossnickle of Wasilla; and many nephews and nieces.
Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.
