Wildlife photographer Sandee Rice takes pictures of hundreds of sandhill cranes gathered and resting in the fields near the Palmer airport. Rice shoots with a long lens to avoid spooking or disturbing the birds. A good rule of thumb when observing the cranes is to not venture into the fields for a closer look and do not bring your dogs.
