Creationism expert to speak at Valley church

A well-known international "creationist" expert will be in the Valley this weekend, presenting a series of discussions about the scientific evidence of creationism as opposed to evolution.

Dr. Thomas Kindell will be at Farm Loop Christian Center tonight from 7 to 9, tomorrow from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., giving his presentation "The Case for Creation."

Kindell was a firm believer in evolution at one point in his life. He then studied the scientific cases for creationism at the Institute for Creation Research under some of the world's top creation scientists and became a creationism expert.

Kindell uses a scientific approach to explain creationism, and to refute the idea of man evolving from a primitive species.

Some of Kindell's presentations include "The Great Dinosaur Deception," in which he explains why dinosaurs are evidence for creation, not evolution; "Is there a monkey in your family tree?" which examines and refutes the belief that man evolved from from apes; "Refuting textbook evidences of evolution" which takes a look at how high schools are teaching evolution; "Evidence in the earth's crust for the flood," which documents the evidence of a flood and includes a discussion of Noah's ark; "Fallacies of the geologic column," which shows the flaws of evolutionary geology; and "Young Earth evidence," in which Kindell looks at the scientific evidence that indicates the world is only a few thousand years old, not billions of years old.

Kindell is the founder and president of Reasons from Faith Ministries, Inc., which is dedicated to "equipping Christian believers to give every man an answer for their Christian faith," according to a flyer.

He has lectured about creationism, mostly around the western U.S., for more than 20 years, receiving acclaim for his presentations.

He is a member of the Oregon Design Science Association, and has been a sustaining member of the Creation Research Society. The presentations have the endorsement of Dr. Duane T. Gish, the senior vice-president of the Institute for Creation Research.
