WASILLA — Juneau remained undefeated in Railbelt Conference play with a pair of wins over Colony Thursday in Wasilla. The Crimson Bears also took two from Wasilla on Wednesday.

Dani Buckley and Michelle Stratton scored for Colony in the opening game, a 9-2 Juneau win. Stratton also pitched a complete game for the Knights. Juneau won the second game by a score of 8-0.

Juneau’s Carrie Anne Laliberte went the whole way in the opener to pick up the win for the Crimson Bears (6-0 Railbelt). Juneau is the defending 2007 state champions.

The losses dropped Colony to 5-2 in the Railbelt, still good enough to remain in second place. The top four teams in the conference advance to the state tournament.

Wasilla drops a pair

Juneau-Douglas made quick work of Wasilla Wednesday at the Bumpus Sports Complex, dispatching the Warriors 12-2 in five innings to open the doubleheader, then proceeding to rack up a 15-0 win in just three innings of play in the night cap.

“There weren’t many highlights for us,” said Wasilla coach Sue Allen.
