To the editor:
A big thank you to all of the “Curvettes” who participated in this year’s Relay For Life. Because of your donations of time and dollars, we came in second place by raising $7,820. A special thanks to our cooks, Madonna and Karen, for the homemade chicken Alfredo and pulled pork.
But the biggest thanks goes to Angie Washington, our fearless leader at Curves. Not only does she organize our fundraiser, she could sell ice to all of us living in Alaska. The Relay is only part of her generosity in the community. Every year she sponsors a food drive, back-to-school, Toys for Tots and the Christmas Friendship Dinner (the Curvettes furnish most of the turkeys and hams).
Angie is the type of person that when you quit working for her, you still go back and help with all of the fundraising.
I sincerely thank you all for making this Relay for Life year so successful.
