Cyclists from the University of Texas left Wasilla Christian Church on Knik-Goose Bay Road Friday morning for the final leg of their 4,000-mile journey from Austin to Anchorage to raise cancer awareness and money for cancer research.

This year, the students were granted police escorts by the City of Wasilla for their ride through town, and Mat-Su Food Bank donated food for rider meals.
