MEADOW LAKES — A Wasilla man was arrested for driving under the influence and weapons misconduct after he called Alaska State Troopers around 2:22 a.m., Oct. 7 to report himself as a dangerous driver.
According to a trooper dispatch, Brian C. Gunnell, 28 of Wasilla phoned in a REDDI report and told troopers he was operating a 1997 silver Dodge pickup while under the influence of alcohol. He also told troopers he was in possession of a firearm.
Troopers responded and contacted Gunnell at the gas station at the intersection of the Parks Highway and Vine Road.
Investigation revealed Gunnell was under the influence of alcohol. He also was found to be in possession of marijuana.
Gunnell was arrested for DUI, MIW IV, and MICS VI and remanded into the custody of the Mat-Su Pre Trial Facility. Bail was set at $1,000. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.
