Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Daniel Edward Lepke, 46, died July 19, 2006, at the Sunshine Manor Assisted Living home in Palmer.
A service was at 2 p.m. July 23, 2006, at the Lepke home.
He was born March 22, 1960, in Milwaukee, Wis.
He moved to Palmer in 1978. He was self-employed.
His family stated, “Dan moved to Alaska as a young man.
“He lived his dream of being a gold miner in the wilds of Alaska. Dan loved Alaska and worked among it's beauty. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
“In remembrance of Uncle Dan the Monkey Tree.”
He is survived by his brothers, David Lepke of Milwaukee and Doug Lepke of South Carolina; friend, Richard Emerson of Palmer; and friend, Ed White of Palmer; as well as many other friends, all who knew him like a brother and uncle.
Arrangements were with Valley Funeral Home and Crematory.
