Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Daphne Colinette Lochner Gustavus, 76, died Sept. 11, 2003, at Providence Extended Care Center in Anchorage.
A memorial service was held Monday at 9:30 a.m.at St. Mary's Episcopal Church on Tudor Road in Anchorage, with Rev. Michael Burke officiating. Ms. Gustavus was born Aug. 29, 1927, in Katihar, India. She was a graduate of Cambridge Royal School of Nursing.
Since August 1994 she had been a resident of Alaska. Her family wrote, "Daphne had a wonderful sense of humor, quick wit and unbound pride and affection for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren."
Survivors include her daughters Dorothy Blain of Springfield, Va., and Kathryn Godden of Wasilla; son Christopher Gustavus of Quito, Ecuador; granddaughters Robin Gustavus of Wasilla, Mandy Basile of Woodbridge, Va., Kristeena Di Pasquale of Berlin, Conn., Jessica Godden of Wasilla, Jody Tingle of Thornue, Australia, and Kyra Gustavus of Quito, Ecuador; grandsons Andrew Godden of Wasilla and Alexander Gustavus of Quito, Ecuador; great-granddaughters Elizabeth Basile and Katelynn Basile of Woodbridge, Va.
Arrangements were made with Evergreen Memorial Chapel of Anchorage.
