Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Darrien Joel Lynch, 3 months, of Palmer, died at Providence Children's Hospital in Anchorage on Sept. 6, 2005. A funeral service is scheduled at 3 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 17, at Church on the Rock in Wasilla. Pastor Gary Oathout will be officiating. Pallbearer will be Joel Lynch. Flowers are welcome. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Darrien was born in Anchorage on June 4, 2005.
His family wrote, "Darrien was a li'l man with a huge impact. He was his mother's miracle and his grandpa's Li'l Joe, his grandma's source of endless bragging and his auntie Carm's Cuddle Cutie. Darrien was loved more in his short life than some people will know in their entire lifetime. The gifts he brought to the world will never be forgotten and the love that grew in each heart will never end."
His sister, Mariah; aunts, Makenzi and Paula; cousin, Keylan, and nanny, Carmon Hamilton, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his mother, Lia Hendry-Lynch of Wasilla; grandparents, Joel and Rhonda Lynch of Palmer; aunt and uncle, Carmon and Todd Beal of Wasilla; paternal great-grandparents, Wayne and Ellen Lynch of Wasilla; maternal great-grandmother, Patti Hair of Vancouver, Wash.; great-great-grandfather, Ed Lynch of Palmer and his great-great-grandmother, Beatrice Stuart of Wasilla. Numerous extended family members and friends also survive him.
