The Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District (MSBSD) is offering the PSAT, NMSQT, and SAT for students, covering the cost for all 8th to 11th graders.
If your student is in grades 8-11, they are encouraged to sign up with their counselor for these important exams. The Preliminary SAT (PSAT) is a valuable opportunity for students to prepare for the SAT and gain insights into their college readiness.
The PSAT for 8th and 9th graders will be held between October 21 and October 31.
The PSAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (NMSQT) for 10th and 11th grade students will also be held between October 21 and October 31.
The PSAT can also unlock opportunities for study plans for the SAT, with a free study plan, customized through the Khan Academy. The test can also provide recommendations for possible Advanced Placement courses, which can earn students college credit and placement, as well as assist in the admission process and save on college tuition, if students take that route after high school.
The SAT for 12th grade students will also be held October 21 through October 31. Students are encouraged to speak with their school counselors for more information.
