David A. Kincaid

David A. Kincaid, 57, of Palmer had his life tragically cut short in a vehicle accident on April 7, 2013. David had a deep faith in Jesus Christ and would often be heard finishing a conversation with the phrase “God is good.” And he meant it every time. David touched many lives with his warm smile, calming demeanor and helping hands. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service to celebrate his life is at 2 p.m., April 13 at Teeland Middle School.

David was a lifelong Alaskan, born on Dec. 13, 1955, in Anchorage, in the Territory of Alaska. His parents were Larry and Janet Kincaid. He and his family moved to Palmer in 1961. David graduated from Palmer High School in 1974 and briefly attended UAA Fairbanks before answering the call to drive heavy haul trucks for the Trans Alaska Pipeline construction. David married Rachel (Olson) Kincaid in September of 1979 and they have raised six wonderful children. He joined the IBEW in 1979, ultimately becoming a Journeyman Lineman with his Electrical Administrator License. He worked for MEA for many years before starting his own electrical company, UCA Inc. in 2001. To say that David was a hard worker would be an understatement and to say he never missed an equipment auction would not be an exaggeration. He had many passions including family, work, auctions, basketball, flying and snow machining. Whatever he did, he did it with excellence and integrity.

David went by many deserving titles including, son, husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his wife of 34 years Rachel Kincaid and their children, Leah, Katrina (Trapper) Most, Molly, Adam, Merrily and Angela. David loved being a “Pa Pa” and spending time with his grandson, Xavier. He is also survived by his mother, Janet Kincaid; and siblings Kathy (Tracy) Moffitt, Marty Kincaid, Ken (Beth) Kincaid, Brian (Alisa) Kincaid and Michelle (Dave Kloep) Kincaid. He has numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Kincaid; and daughter, Kristianna Grace Kincaid.
