Davin J. Brawley, 19, died at home on May 7, 2004. Mr. Brawley came to Alaska in August 1990. He was born in Albuquerque, N.M.
His family said, "Davin loved the fact that he grew up in Alaska. He loved to snowboard, snowmachine and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He made friends easily and changed many people's lives. He will always be loved by his family and friends."
Survivors include his mother and father, Donnie and Stephen Darilek of Meadow Lakes; sister, Melanie Devlin, of Columbia Md.; nephew, Jeremy Devlin; sister, Tora, and nephews Jonathan and Cody Friedman of Alaska; godparents, Chuck and Margaret Brawley, of Big Lake; grandparents, Robert and Janette DeForke, of Kerrville, Texas; and fianc/e, Stephanie Barnard, of Cortez, Colo.
