Daylight saving time for the birds

To the editor:

I was listening to a gentleman explain if we get rid of daylight saving time, tourism would lose at least 10 percent of the sales for that last hour of the day. Duhhhh…

When my family and friends visit, they go to bed when we go to bed and they get up when we get up and yes, I take them to lots of places where they can spend their money.

Last summer we took people to Whittier, Talkeetna, Valdez, the reindeer farm, the musk ox farm, the farm for injured animals and the Alaska Zoo. They did the Tour-de-Anchorage all by themselves and yes when they returned home that night they had lots of gifts for family and friends.

I, for one, am tired of springing ahead and falling back. The farmers will receive as much sunshine on their crops as they ever got.
