The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is preparing a draft for the proposed in-state natural gas transportation project known as the Alaska Stand Alone Pipeline. Public scoping is the initial phase of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) process and provides an opportunity to engage the public, to solicit input from interested and affected stakeholders, and to identify the range of issues to be addressed in the Stand Alone Pipeline Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement. A revised ASAP Plan of Development has been published and is available on the project website at asapgas.agdc.us/documents.
Public comments regarding potential impacts associated with the project’s construction and operation and proposed alternatives can be sent to asapeiscomments@usace.army.mil. Please include with your written comments: (1) Name, address, and affiliation (if any); and (2) Background support documents if necessary. Interested parties are encouraged to visit asapeis.com.
