Dear Editor,

Time to review the resident Frontiersman Swami's primary predictions!

Governor: Dunleavy for sure.....voters indeed chose: Dunleavy by a 30 percent margin!

Lt. Governor: Grunwald by a nose...voters favored Kevin Meyer by 9 percent margin.

Senate Seat E: Shower by close split decision....voters favored Shower by 36 percent margin.

House District 11: Too close to call...voters picked DeLena Johnson by 18 points.

House District 8: Neuman easy win...voters agreed!

House District 9: Colver will be victor..voters elected George Rauscher and rejected Colver by 20 points....a landslide defeat.

Not being especially critical of the Swami!

We prognosticators must always take our chances - sometimes prescient, sometimes improvident. But in the end, campaigns matter, and it is the voters who decide!

And every vote really counts (unless you live in Gabby LeDoux's District 15).

Down on the Kenai Peninsula one House primary was decided by 12 votes and a State Senate primary by 72 votes!

Congratulations Mat-Su! The local Republican Party really promoted a "Rise Up Mat-Su" message to vote. You voted in force. Mat-Su represents 15 percent of the statewide population, but your votes made up nearly 25 percent of the entire statewide Republican Primary vote - major impact indeed!

Tuckerman Babcock,

Chairman, Alaska Republican Party
