Deborah Lee Gilchrist (LaVeau)
It is with deep sadness that we announce that our beloved mother Deborah Lee Gilchrist (LaVeau) passed away on July 4, 2022, after valiantly battling multiple illnesses over many years. A fighter until the end, she passed away at the age of 68.
As a member of the American Legion, AmVets, and VFW, Debbie was known to have a servant’s heart. She would always say that the world may not be fair, but we can do our best to make it that way. Those who knew Debbie knew she was always up for a round, or ten, of Bingo and loved watching cooking shows despite never making a single dish.
Debbie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert of 31 years. She is survived by her daughter, Tonia, her husband, Mike; her son, James, his wife, Julia, and their two sons, Jesse and Robert. Debbie had many other family and friends who will mourn her passing. Our family is at peace knowing that Debbie is no longer suffering and is reunited with the love of her life.
A celebration of Debbie’s life will be held at the VFW Wasilla Post 9365 on July 30, 2022, from 2pm to 5pm, all who knew and loved Debbie are welcome.
