Alaska’s Division I boys defending state champions kicked off their 2024 season with a win.
The Colony Knights blanked Dimond 5-0 Saturday afternoon at Colony High School.
Johnny Figgens netted the hat trick to lead the Knights, and bagged an assist. Tyler Swartz and Isaac Villa had a goal and an assist each. Devon Smith and Owen Dietz also had assists.
Mason Irsik earned a three-save shutout.
The Dimond girls scored 11 unanswered in a 13-2 win over Colony. Asha Gerteisen and Sammy Gerteisen scored for Colony.
