WASILLA — On Sept. 30, Nikolay Revutskiy, 27, of Wasilla, was arrested for theft in the second degree, assault in the third degree and assault in the fourth degree as a result of an incident that took place at Sportsman’s Warehouse in Wasilla at approximately 4:04 p.m.
Wasilla Police responded to a report of shoplifting at the store by a man who then allegedly assaulted store employees as they confronted him.
One employee stated that Revutskiy attempted to stab him with keys and “gouge their eyes out.”
The assailant then left the scene but employees were able to give police his direction of travel. Police apprehended Revutskiy and employees identified him as the suspect.
Police said the value of the alleged theft was $284.97, which the suspect attempted to abscond with by running out of the back of the store.
Two employees tried to stop the man, when the scuffle broke out. One employee said that Revutskiy had “bitten his arm, caused him to injure multiple other areas on his body, threatened to stab the employee with a knife and then pulled out a key and began trying to attack the employee’s face.”
Police observed that the employee had multiple minor wounds, including a bite mark and damage to his glasses.
A second employee said she also attempted to stop the man but he tried to bite her arm, too and jabbed her in the eye with his finger. She displayed a swollen scratch down her chest, according to court documents.
The arrest was the fourth theft arrest for Revutskiy in the last five years.
Court records show he was convicted of theft in the fourth degree in 2013, theft in the third degree and theft in the second degree in 2014.
Court documents say that in his bail hearing, Revutskiy admitted to being involved in the altercation with the store employees.
His bail was set at $5,000 with a court appointed third party, and is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Oct. 12.
WASILLA — Nicholas Taylor Gage, 21, of Wasilla, was arrested on two counts of assault in the third degree and one count of misconduct involving weapons on Oct. 5.
At approximately 6:20 p.m. on Oct. 5, Wasilla Police responded to a call from a neighbor reporting yelling from a man and woman and reported what sounded like a gun going off. Other neighbors told police they heard numerous shots, prompting police to visit the residence of Gage and his girlfriend.
The girlfriend said Gage began yelling at her and pulled out a pistol and waving it around before firing a shot into a nightstand.
Police said they found a .22 casing on the bed, and asked the girlfriend to contact Gage, who had left the premises. According to court documents, police spoke with Gage via phone, who agreed to meet with them at the Walmart parking lot, where he was detained without incident.
According to police, Gage told them he believed he had waved the gun at his girlfriend because she “wouldn’t be quiet” and “wouldn’t leave him alone.” When police asked Gage whether he’d fired the weapon another time in the apartment, he said he’d fired it “a couple of times,” straight into the air, while he was driving, according to reports.
Police discovered three spent .22 shell casings on Spruce Road in Wasilla.
Gage was arrested on two counts of domestic violence assault in the third degree, misconduct involving weapons in the third degree and reckless endangerment.
He was transported to Mat-Su Pretrial where he was remanded without bail and later released on $2,500 with a court-appointed third party.
His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Oct. 16.
