DELTA — Despite a late Houston run, Delta held on to grab a 58-54 boys basketball win over the Hawks Saturday afternoon in Delta Junction.
Delta used a 20-12 second-quarter run to take the lead, but the Hawks stayed in the ball game with 29 second-half points. Matt Barron led Houston with 13 points and five assists. Mitchell Ruta added a dozen points, and Jeff Baird finished with a game-high eight rebounds.
Delta overcame a slow start to score a 50-38 girls basketball win over Houston. The Hawks led 9-7 after the first quarter, but Delta outscored Houston 13-9 in both the second and third quarters. Savannah Wells led Houston with 13 points.
