I am shocked by the Alaska Democratic Party’s promotion of Mark Begich on the party website. It is immoral to use the resources and money donated by all Democrats to fund their party elite’s chosen candidate, before the voters have made their decision in the primary election.
This act is corrupt, like the previous acts of bribery committed by several of our Republican legislators and staffers, but not illegal. Is the Alaska Democratic Party demonstrating that they, too, lack the moral leadership necessary to promote real change?
The people of Alaska should know the facts regarding the power politics played with the donations from all Alaskans to the Alaska Democratic Party. A level playing field currently does not exist for Democratic primary candidates in Alaska. This fact should concern true Democrats.
I urge Democrats who truly support the democratic process to demand that their party end this system of elitism, favoritism and power. Do Alaskan Republicans hold the moral high ground on this issue?
Under their current leadership, the Alaska Democratic Party certainly does not, if you consider respect for voters‚ wishes in their primary as an indication of morality. Why have a primary, when the Democratic Party leadership has already selected its candidates beforehand?
Based on proven, ethical leadership, I support Ray Metcalfe to insure honest “democratic” change!
