WASILLA — Denali Gymnastics is hosting the 2023 Men's Regional Championship March 31 through April 2 at the Menard Arena in Wasilla.

"It's a pretty big endeavor. It'll be a pretty fun event," Denali Gymnastics men's gymnastics director, Ryan Childers said.

The regional championship serves as a qualifier for nationals.

Over 30 different teams across Region 2 (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Idaho) will be participating in this three-day competition.

"It's the best kids across the entire country," Childers said. "I just want to see as many people as we can in the stands. I just want to fill up the stadium and make them feel special."

The 2022 Men's Regional Championship was held in Idaho. According to Childers, the last time this competition was held in Alaska was in Anchorage over 20 years ago.

"It's a pretty cool thing. We're honored to be able to host this in the Valley," Childers said.

There will also be numerous local vendors and food trucks offering goods and services throughout the three-day competition.

General admission is $20. Students (with identification), youth, and seniors are admitted for free.
