A visitation with military honors for Wasilla resident Dennis Eugene Fannin, 49, will be held Friday, Sept. 21, 2001, at Kehl's Palmer Chapel from 3 to 5 p.m.
Mr. Fannin died Sept. 15, 2001 at his home, due to complications from diabetes. He was born Oct. 29, 1951, in Kodiak, and graduated from Kodiak High School in 1969. He was a decorated Vietnam veteran who served in Vietnam from June 1970 through June 17, 1971 and had received many top military medals. He moved from Kodiak to Wasilla in 1985 and was a member of the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed the History Channel and anything military.
His family said: "Dennis had a wonderful sense of humor and the ability to make anyone laugh. He was a generous man to all, especially his family. He will be missed by many."
Mr. Fannin is survived by his parents, Vernon and Katherine Fannin of Kodiak; sisters, Cynthia Wansor of Sutton, Dolores Williams of Great Falls, Mont., and Della and Bonnie Fannin, both of Anchorage; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Karen LaFollette of Kodiak; brother, Drew Fannin of Racine, Wis.; brother-in-law, Robert Wansor of Sutton; companion, Vicky Jacobs of Palmer; nephew, Eric Wansor of Phoenix; niece, Melissa Wansor of Wasilla; and nephew, Jerry LaFollette Jr. of Seattle.
Arrangements were made by Kehl's Palmer Mortuary.
