HOUSTON - Cody Dennis was named to a list of 40 Alaskans who represent the "Heart of Alaska," according to the governor's office.
Dennis, who died from cancer Oct. 10, is No. 9 on the list. Here's what the governor's office wrote about Dennis:
"Cody Dennis of Wasilla was an avid young basketball player and an inspiration to his community. He passed away this year after a 10-month battle with cancer. In his memory, Cody's family established a nonprofit organization called ‘Cody's Wish' to bring together and support families of children facing cancer."
