Some 200 participants dropped lines into Big Lake Saturday for the first Big Lake Ice Fishing Derby, sponsored by Sportsman’s Warehouse in Wasilla. Six winners in two categories were recognized. For Dolly Varden, Steve Totten won first place with a 26.75-inch fish, Jim Wallace was second at 25.75 inches and Kylie Hamilton third at 22.5 inches. For rainbow trout, Tyson Sena won first place with a 17.5-inch fish, followed by Mike Bosch at 16.5 inches and Jeff Olsen at 16 inches.
