PALMER — Despite a 14-7 loss to North Pole on Saturday, the Moose are in the playoffs. Colony’s 27-13 win over West Valley on Friday clinched postseason berths for both the Knights and Moose.
Palmer could still finish anywhere from second to forth in the Railbelt standings depending on what happens next week.
Palmer currently stands in third place with a 3-2 record in conference play. Juneau-Douglas also has a 3-2 record.
Colony is in second at 4-1 and will lock up second place and home-field advantage in the first round with a win over Juneau on Saturday at CHS.
With a win over Wasilla in the Potato Bowl on Friday, the Moose will finish in at least third.
In order to finish second and host a game in the first round of the large-schools playoffs, Palmer needs Juneau-Douglas to beat Colony on Saturday, and get some additional help. That would create a three-way tie at 4-2 and second place would go to the team with the least points allowed in conference play.
