ANCHORAGE — When all was said and done, real estate developer Lee Baker Jr., 57, was sentenced to three years in prison for crimes committed in Anchorage.
Baker had initially been charged, among other things, with misusing funds related to the construction of 52 duplex condos across the Parks Highway from Wasilla Lake.
Those charges were eventually dropped. What remained in the case against Baker related to shady real estate transactions in relation to an 85-unit apartment complex in Anchorage and a $9.2 million construction loan he received to build it on Northern Lights.
In addition to the jail time, he will have to pay $3 million in restitution.
