What makes the Mat-Su Valley such a special place? Is it our rich Colonist history? Is it our beautiful scenery, clean water, fresh air, glaciers, green space, and mountains? Is it our abundant recreational opportunities? Perhaps it’s our small-town feel with progressively big-city comforts? Many of us agree that it is a combination of these things. Yet, the Valley may not have succeeded the way it has without leadership from people like Larry DeVilbiss. Larry’s family farm was the second homestead beyond Wolverine Creek canyon on Lazy Mountain, and many of us still enjoy their carrots and beef. I appreciate the qualities Larry learned as a farmer that he has brought to the Mat-Su Borough, such as tireless work ethic, stewardship of the environment, fiscal sensibility, and responsible development. Please join me in voting for Larry DeVilbiss for reelection as Borough Mayor on October 6.
