“American Eye Doll,” an original sculpture by local artist Suzanne Bach, is part of the Dolls on Parade art show on display at Madd Matters Gallery and Frame Shop, 101 East Arctic Ave., through Aug. 10. Bach said she collaborated with welder Taylor Buxton to transform a rotating eye with eyelashes made of bicycle spokes and mounted on an I-Beam. The doll’s dress is made from a sock.
Dolls on Parade is a creative-themed doll art event presented by the Valley Arts Alliance and Valley Community for Recycling Solutions to raise funds and awareness. The exhibit will move to the Alaska State Fair in August and will be auctioned Oct. 21 at the Hello Dolly Dance at the Palmer Moose Lodge.
