Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Donald Carlton Frisbie, 83, died Feb. 4, 2006, in Wasilla. He was born Jan. 6, 1923, in Stormlake, Iowa. He attended the University of Oregon for four years. Mr. Frisbie was in the Navy and served in World War II.
Mr. Frisbie was a resident of Wasilla for more then a year. He grew up in Hood River, Ore., and worked for Timberlane Land Company in Eugene, Ore., as a certified public accountant for 31 years and retired from that company in 1989. He was of the Methodist faith.
His hobbies included boating and deep-sea fishing. He loved people and enjoyed reading and using the computer. His family said, “Donald was a wonderful husband and father. We will not forget you, sweetheart.”
Mr. Frisbie is survived by his wife, Dorothy L. Frisbie of Wasilla; daughter, Susan Frisbie of Carson City, Nev.; stepsons, Charles Noe and Robert Noe of Wasilla; brother, Harold Frisbie and his wife, Naomi, of Hood River, Ore.; sister, Margie Oates, and her husband, Jimmy, of Wasilla; stepgranddaughter, Yvonne Noe of Seattle, and his step great-grandchildren, Chase and Torrey DeAlba of Seattle.
Mr. Frisbie was preceded in death by his son, James Frisbie, in 1997. Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home and Crematory.
