Donna Patricia “Pat” Geiwitz

Feb. 25, 1935 — July 1, 2016

On July 1, 2016 in Lebanon, Oregon, we lost Donna Patricia “Pat” Geiwitz. She was born in Wiggins, Colorado on February 25, 1935 to Vern and Faye Graybeal. Pat was in her teens when her family relocated to the Mat-Su Valley, Alaska where her father worked on the Eklutna Power Project. She worked at the Frontier Café and Rempels Drug Store in Palmer while attending school.

It was in Alaska that she met her husband Dick Geiwitz, whom she married on April 1, 1952 in Denver, Colorado. They had five children all raised in Alaska, Richard Geiwitz of Enumclaw, Washington; Carolyn Dedrick of Wasilla, Alaska; Roger Geiwitz of Castle Rock, Colorado; Verna Gamble of Lebanon, Oregon; and Donna Jundt of Puyallup, Washington.

Pat was a stay at home mom until her children got older and the family moved to Anchorage. There she held positions at JC Penney, National Bank of Alaska, and Chugach Electric. After leaving Alaska, Pat worked side by side with Dick in the auto parts store they purchased in Lebanon. After selling the store she enjoyed working as an election worker for Linn County. Pat was an active member of the Lebanon Elkettes and the Lebanon Hospital Auxiliary. Later in life she worked at the Mat-Su Valley Borough Tax Office when she and Dick returned to Alaska for 5 years before retiring back in Lebanon.

Pats children will tell you that growing up she took an active interest in and supported them in any activities they were involved with. She loved to read, knit, sew and paint.

She was loved and will be missed not only by her immediate family but by her brothers, Mark Graybeal and Ron Gibson; sisters, Joyce Graybeal, and Sandy Miller all of Michigan, and Sharon Stockwell of Colorado; her ten grandchildren, Sheina Geiwitz, Shaun Dedrick, Alisha Geiwitz, Amanda Ingleby, Ashlee Geiwitz, Rene Gamble, Jacklyn Gamble, Lindsay Blake, Patricia Jundt and Joey Jundt; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and too many nieces and nephews to list. Pat joins her mom Faye; stepdad Wayne; dad Vern; stepmom Velma; and brothers Jimmy and Dick in a far better place than this world. There was no service at her request. We Love you Mom, be at Peace!
