Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Donna Pollard, 62, died of natural causes Aug. 30, 2004, at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage.
A visitation will be held at 1 p.m. today at Evergreen Memorial Chapel, 737 E. St., with services following at 2 p.m. Pastor Mark Henry of Turnagain Church of Christ will officiate. Burial will follow at Anchorage Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ms. Pollard was born Aug. 12, 1942, on the East Coast, was raised in California and moved to Alaska in 1997.
She was a retired nurse's assistant.
Ms. Pollard enjoyed caring for her grandchildren and traveling. Her family said, "She was loved by many and will be missed."
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Amy Esguerra and Anthony and Valery Esguerra; grandchildren, Tyler Esguerra, Christina Esguerra, Bernadette Esguerra, Brittany Esguerra, Jorden Esguerra, Zack Esguerra and by longtime friend, Sam Gimelli.
