Donovan P. Taylor, 87, passed away May 23rd, 2021, at Mat-Su Regional Hospital. A viewing will be held at Kehl’s Palmer Mortuary, 209 S Alaska St, Palmer, from 12 pm until 2pm on Friday, May 28th.

Don was born June 20th, 1933, in Laurel, Montana, to Doris and Jack Taylor. He grew up in Livingston, Montana, and married Lila Kirk September 7th, 1968. They drove up the Al-Can Highway in April 1969, settling in Anchorage until they moved to Palmer in 1977.

Don was an aircraft mechanic trained in the Air Force and joined the Alaska Army National Guard in 1976, where he worked until he retired from military service in 1993. Don then worked for VanderWeele Farm driving a delivery truck and tractor. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, archery, working on and watching airplanes, and being outdoors riding his Argo.

Don is survived by his wife, Lila, three sons, and a daughter: Donovan Taylor Jr. of Kenai, Jack Taylor of Palmer, Burt and Patricia Taylor of Wasilla, and Doris Taylor of Seattle, WA. He has ten grandchildren, Felicia Kern, Regina Horne, Melia Carinio, Sheila Kern, Alina Taylor, Bubba Horne, Cynthia Horne, Jase Taylor, Odin Lund, and Rune Lund. He has five great grandchildren Nevaeh and Mikey, and Kaimana, Ross, and Mireya.
