Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Dora Marie "Dottie" Green, 85, died Jan. 8, 2005, with her daughter, Laurie, and caregiver, Anila, by her side.
Mrs. Green and her husband, Donald, moved to Alaska to be with their daughter in 1999.
Due to the effects of Alzheimer's disease, she entered extended care in 2000, moving to Anila's Home Care in October 2002.
Born in Michigan, Mrs. Green was an acrobatic dancer who entertained troops with the USO during World War II.
She worked in many nightclubs, as well as in a show on Broadway. Her husband preceded her in death by one year and 11 days.
She leaves her daughter, Laurie Green; adopted daughter, Sandra LaMar Bennett and several nieces and nephews.
There will be no service. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hospice of Mat-Su or the Alzheimer's Association of Alaska. Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.
