Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Anchorage resident Doris Jeane Hines died Sept. 9, 2004.
A memorial service and burial were held Sept. 24, with full military honors, at Ft. Richardson National Cemetery.
Mrs. Hines was born Oct. 12, 1950, in Wilkesboro, N.C. She moved to Alaska in 1990 and loved living in Anchorage for more than 14 years. She loved tending flowers and growing her own vegetables. She worked as a food service worker around the local area. She was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 16 years of service.
Her husband, Ronald, said, "Those who knew her, loved her."
She is survived by her husband; two brothers and a sister.
Anchorage Funeral Home and Crematory made the arrangements.
