Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Mrs. Dorotha "Dottie" Davidson, 85, died of natural causes at Valley Hospital in Palmer on March 2, 2004.
Her ashes will be scattered with those of her dog, Token, over Mount McKinley and at her parents' graves in Augusta, Kan. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Davidson was born Oct. 6, 1918, in Wichita, Kan.
She lived in Arkansas, Kansas and Wyoming before moving to Alaska in 1985. She lived in Anchorage until 2000, and then she moved to Wasilla where she resided until the time of her death.
Mrs. Davidson had worked for Wal-Mart and had been a nurse's aide in Wichita.
She had been a volunteer for the Anchorage Senior Center and the Arctic Rose Caf/.
Mrs. Davidson loved painting, reading and embroidery.
Her family wrote, "She has had a fulfilled life." Her sister said, "She was a good sister and I was proud to have her as one. She was very kind and generous, never asking for anything in return and having the world's greatest sense of humor. Dottie's favorite saying when asked how she felt was, 'With my fingers!' Her love of animals was known by all. Dottie was the best friend and mother that anyone could ask for."
Her parents Claude and Mary Briscoe, uncle Ray and aunt Lucy Yarnall, preceded Mrs. Davidson in death.
She is survived by her great-niece Meri Kathy Swett; great-great nephews Stefan M. Daly and Robert Daly; son and daughter-in-law Russell and Cynthia Daly; sister Vernissa Malone; family in Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas who include Eddie and Joy Presnell, Florence Daly, Claude and Pat Presnell, Lloyd and Lucy, Thelma, Shaunda, and Shelly and Wilma.
Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory in Wasilla.
