Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Wasilla resident Mrs. Dorothy Ann McCluskey, 72, died of natural causes at Valley Hospital in Palmer June 6, 2003. A memorial service was held at Valley Harvest Church in Palmer Monday evening. Pastor Joe Hand officiated.
Mrs. McCluskey was born Sept. 10, 1930, in Alhambra, Calif. She became a resident of Alaska in 1991. She lived in California before moving to Alaska. There she worked as a cashier for Pacific Bell Telephone Company until her retirement in the early 1980s.
Mrs. McCluskey was a member of Valley Harvest Church in Palmer.
Her family wrote, "She was a master sewer, she made porcelain dolls and she did bead work and gardening, especially flower gardening. She had a good sense of humor, a smile that would light up the room, and her laugh was contagious. Her heart was full of life and light. She was always giving or doing for others."
Mrs. McCluskey is survived by her husband Terry McCluskey; children, Bryan Cassels, Marilyn Brown, Lorinda Gregory and Anita Charlene Tupper; grandchildren, Chauna Dixon, Christine Fox, Sandy Baker, Ann Cassels, Jennifer Horsley, James Taylor, Daniel Gregory, Brianna Gregory, Dan Tupper and Julie Myers; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home & Crematory.
